A collection of Japanese brake engineers from automotive manufacturers and brake suppliers started a friction forum in 2010. The 15th friction forum will be held in July 2016. The forums have allowed the automotive communities, primarily in Japan, to collaborate and engage in open discussions, resulting in many benefits for all involved. The discussions are now not only related to friction, but also to complete brake system design and performance. These discussions have been implemented by Japanese engineers, and the audience has been mostly limited to the Japanese brake community.
We have therefore decided to establish a Brake Forum in Japan, with the inaugural event occurring this November 28 & 29, where we will include presentations from around the world. We are looking for presentations on all aspects of brake design which can be shared and discussed with fellow Japanese brake engineers, as well as engineers worldwide. This will be an event that we anticipate only holding every 4 or 5 years. It is very important, and exciting to have a platform where the Japanese brake community can collaborate and more easily communicate and share topics around cutting edge brake technology with the global brake community.
We are looking forward to an exciting time in Japan!!
